Cedar Pest Control of Richmond is raising money to send protective mosquito nets and other malaria interventions through the Nothing But Nets campaign – the world’s largest grassroots campaign to end malaria – one of the oldest and deadliest diseases that is a leading cause of death among children in the world. Malaria is transmitted at night by a mosquito bite, but a simple net hung over a child’s bed can provide protection from this deadly, yet preventable disease.

This year, Cedar Pest Control of Richmond will be donating up to $5 for every mosquito control treatment!

Just $5 covers the cost to purchase, ship, and educate a parent on how to properly use a bed net.

We Can Be the Generation to Defeat Malaria

Nothing But Nets is a global grassroots campaign to raise awareness, funds, and voices to fight malaria. In 2006, sports columnist Rick Reilly wrote a column in Sports Illustrated challenging each of his readers to donate at least $10 to send insecticide-treated bed nets to protect families from malaria-carrying mosquitoes. Since then, with the help of our partners and supporters, we have raised over $70 million to help deliver 13 million bed nets to families in need, along with other crucial malaria interventions like diagnostics, treatment, and training of healthcare workers.

Who is Nothing But Nets?

Over the years, we’ve engaged hundreds of thousands of individuals to help achieve the United Nations and the global health community’s goal of ending malaria in this generation. We work with students, churches, local businesses, and a diverse group of partners, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the National Basketball Association’s NBA Cares, Junior Chamber International, and Sumitomo Chemical Corporation, among others, to rally the health, business, and sports communities to help us fight malaria.
